Eye Candy: Cleanest Diesel engine compartment pictures

How about some pictures?

After installing two new cooler lines I seen how the yellow Zinc plating shined among all of the oil and crud.
I then searched for pictures of clean engines.
All that turned up was low sulfur fueled and emission controlled motors.

That's nice on the lungs but I'm talking about the eyes.
These cars with all the aluminum and plated lines must have been
mechanical masterpieces under the hoods when new.

Lets see New or as close to new the blood sweat and tears has gotten it.

So If you've take the time to make your engine clean enough to eat off of why not show it off ?
Same goes for just overhauled ones.

lets see some pictures.

my 87 wagon looked AMAZING when I got it, at 171K. I also have a very clean 83SD with original cosmoline on the lines and other parts of the car.
I'll see if I can find the pics from when I picked up the car.

Didn't say you had to have an engine in there this was after a deep clean and lots of scrubbing before my OM617 went in...and will inevitably oil everything nicely.

I could have made that cleaner. There are a few super clean diesels on this forum. I kept the SDL super clean as well. I keep that going with the cabriolet. I pulled the battery and battery tray and cleaned that all out and polished and waxed the paint under the tray for some protection from the elements.

Where is MBeige? His engine bay is so clean, you could picnic on the valve cover.

My car is ashamed of its dirty engine bay, and sent his smaller brother in as proxy for now

Mine will never "bless" this forum, at least in the near future. If I were more unscrupulous I might wait a few more posts and try to pass Colin's off as my own.

You can say that again!!

I went down to collincoon's and actually seen the color of the
vacuum lines. Nice!

How you guys keep the oil on the inside of the engine is beyond me.

But then the subconscious said did we see that right on Brad123's ???

So I did a double take.

Yes it was ................................

CLEAR blow-by hoses!!!!

Now that's just plain showing off !!

I've seen cleaner engine bays, but here's mine, taken in 2008. Doesn't look that much different from this photo, except for the MB battery and a few small changes.
