You have to replace the clutch every 200,000 miles? More? Replace the pressure plate.

That would be a welcome change in my case on the 87. The 201/124 setup is very much at the top.

You can also adjust for it by removing the gasket on the clutch slave.

Good idea, that gasket must be 4mms or so thick.

what about a longer rod on the slave? maybe mill down the face of the slave a silly millimeter or two that would bring it closer.

shimming the back side of the FW would shorten the 12 bolts clamping it to the crank.
How much can be machined off the FW before the problem starts?

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

The rods did come in various lengths although I think the difference was much greater than what you are looking for.
