'85 300D oil leak at head gasket??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a newbie here and just acquired this beautiful machine with 215,000 miles. Trying to get her running great. See huge quantities of an old/current oil leak in back of engine on passenger side. The sludge is piled high all the way down to the starter. Took the manifolds off for an inspection/ turbo rebuild and also did a valve adjust. The leak is NOT from the valve cover gasket. My thought now is the head OR the turbo oil line where it is clamped to the motor. I took the clamp off, and can feel a slight nick in the line and also saw oil under the clamp after i pressure washed it as best I could before I took it apart. Is there any way to test that line if I took it off from the oil filer housing? Can it be patched with JB weld if it is leaking? Or am I screwed with a head gasket leak?
The car shows no signs of head gasket problem. Good oil pressure, no smoke.

it's not totally unheard of, but not common. much more likely from the turbo oil feed line as you've suspected.
