Thanks very much everyone!!

I just want to thanks for all the valuable info shared from everyone out there about the thread I called VW Jetta 2006 VS E300D 1999.
I did read all comments. I still think both cars are real nice. I undestand well about the PD engine on VW and the cam problems.
I have not decided yet. The VW belows to a friend who really take care of his car. He used the recommeded 505.01 motor oil.

I will let you know what I decided.
Thanks

I debated much the same thing over a year ago. After looking at the Jetta and 190D, I realized that there was no way my son (6' 1" at that time) would not fit in the back seat. Now a year later and an inch taller, he still fits in the back seat of my '87 300D. For great economy the Jetta is the choice. For good economy, more room and a better ride the Mercedes is a better choice. I am currently looking at C300s and E350s for my wife. Again the room inside will determine the purchase.
