Call Phil

Call Phil at this website for the parts . . . he'll also tell you where they go. Seems most of the time, the expansion valve is somewhere in the dash.

on the 83 123, the txv is above the passenger's kick plate. between the blower motor housing and the firewall.
there is a lot to change and flush when replacing the compressor.
if you start a thread about A/C repair on your car, I'll 'splain things to ya!

While you're at it, switch back to R12 if you're not already using it. It cools better and is easier on the compressor. Use the real thing, not substitutes. As one member said in a past post, "don't be stepping over a dollar to pick up a penny".
