Injector Return Line

To whom it may concern:

I stopped by my local VW dealer to pick up a meter of braided injector return line. I tried using the part number that was given when I had used the search for it. However, the part number given on here is not the one that is in their database.

Old Part #- N 20 252 5 <----- this number doesnt exist in their catalog

New Part #- N-020-353-27

This is for one meter of braided rubber diesel injector return line for an 80's VW Diesel Rabbit. Cost is approx $9.00/meter.

Thought I'd help out anyone who may need it.

Also, thanks to all who have posted helpful info or specs for anything else, I definitely appreciate it. I use the info here a lot to help maintain my diesel and am grateful for all that ya'll do. Cheers.

Sounds like some nice bling - do you have a picture - or can you take a photo of your new tubing?

thanks for the part #

I have found that fuel hose for a weed wacker or chainsaw will usually outlast the braided hose. I have had it on my 83 300SD for over 5 years and the 617.951 in my 53 F100 for over 3 years. The hose is still as flexible as the day I installed it. I know the purists will frown on this, but it is another viable option.

People have had mixed results with the weed wacker/chain Saw Line/tubing. Evidently they are not all made the same.

What is needed is for you to post what Company made the type you are using so that when someone buys some they will know they are getting the same thing ore at least what type of Material the Tubing is made of.

Everyones method of dealing with problems is different. My way to deal after buying several extra lengths on eBay was that I later saw another eBay seller that sold it by the foot and I bought 25 Feet of the Extra Return Line. (I have 2 Diesel Cars that use the same return Line.) So with the 25 Feet + the other lengths that I bouth I am well prepared.
(I have also used it for Vacuum Hose and Window Washer Hose on my other Vehicles.)

No matter what you use for the Return line some should be kept in your Car.

I know that before they changed the Diesl Fuel formulation the Return Line was good for 5 years if you did not remove it inbetween that time. I would say the life gets cut in 1/2 if you have to pull them off during that time.

I picked up some return line from the VW Shop. it is the black braded line with the grey stripe. fit perfectly. 3 1/2 ft, $9.00.
I even brought in a fuel injetor so they would know what I was talking about. gave them the Part#. young guy didn`t know and asked the older guy. he knew exactly what it was.
