European Headlights

Hello. I've got a 1990 w124.

The PO had installed European headlights. This morning I went out and the parking light on the drivers side is missing. It has fallen out in the past 24 hours. This is the separate, clear unit that wraps around the car and is mostly present on the side and not the front.

Where can I find a replacement?

Thanks.

White or yellow they'll both work. When I switched over I kept the stock yellow ones.

when you install your new light make sure you push it in until it makes a definite 'click'. The tab/clip on the back has to engage properly otherwise they can fall out, which is what sounds like happened to your old one...

There are actually four styles: The US amber with side reflector, the non-US amber with no side reflector, the US clear with side amber reflector ('94/'95), and the non-US clear with no side reflector.

I lost one while cruising down the highway after replacing the bulb hours before. Definitely listen for the click.

I'd like to buy every part I can from this site as it is such a great resource.

But my funds are limited. I was able to find a pair of new cheapos for $30 (including tax/handling/shipping) on eBay. I doubt that you'll could come close but I should have called and asked.

I wanted to get something in there quickly. Our local law enforcement does not respond to most requests for assistance (I've had my house broken in, accident involving a hit-and-run driver and two robberies in progress to which either no one came or they came hours after the event in progress) but they'll love to give tickets that create revenue.

I'll do what I can to support this site.

Thanks.

Update - item for sale

So I ordered the $30/pair parking lights from eBay on Thursday. They show up at my house on Saturday.

They are an EXACT replacement! The big boys wanted $120/pair for them. Yikes!

So first I appreciate the help. Secondly I have a perfect, all clear, right (passenger) side parking light that someone can have for $10 plus shipping.

There was one small issue with the product. It came with a fixture for a single filament bulb. My car uses a dual filament. However, when I lost the old unit the bulb assembly remained with the car so I used it in the new unit.

Take care.

I'm assuming the lights you had were aftermarket, and probably made by the company Depot. I might be assuming wrong though.

Depo lights will probably have blank lens markings (maybe just "H4"), but the true Bosch or Hella with have "E1" and the BOSCH or HELLA name stamped on the lens.

W123 Bosch Euro light for reference (W124 should be similar):

Ahh! Gotcha.

I know nothing about them, they came with the car.

I'll look and see if they are Depot's.

Thanks for all the help.
