124 FMS's

What is the best FSM to purchase for headgasket R+R? I've read through quite a few threads and there seems to be some discrepancies. I'll be looking to do this on a '91 300D 2.5/'92 300E 2.6 in the very near future.

I would suggest that all the information you need can be found in the DIY section on here. There are some online free manuals about as well. Forum rules dont allow us to post links to pirate copies of manuals though.
Probably the buy parts link have suitable manuals if a hard copy is important to you.

I have been consulting and comparing the Mercedes 124 FSM and the Haynes 124 manual while going through this same process. I have found that the FSM is a great source for the information, accurate and complete, but difficult to navigate as you have to move from section to section chasing the various procedures. The Haynes manual has not yet had an omission nor disparity.

I suggest both: The FSM for your desk, I print pages for a binder in the garage as I work, and the Haynes for the garage for quick reference (torques etc.).

Thanks Jeff. That sounds like a good plan.
