w126 500sel Honeycomb Trailing Arms compatibility
I have a 1983 300d and I'm wondering if the w126 Euro style 'honeycomb' (that's what I call the grid pattern on the bottom side of the) trailing arms are compatible with my car. My trailing arm had a crack on the bottom which I had welded several thousand miles ago. I saw a 500sel Euro at my mechanic's shop and I know that w126 trailing arms do work on w123's, but didn't know if the Euro models also did or not. I'm pretty sure these honeycomb arms have some sort of bracket built into them for SLS. My 300d does not have SLS.
Thanks, Sev

There's a long thread on here somewhere covering the topic. I think our Dutch living British member was experimenting with it. My recollection is that the rough answer is no, not without work on the sway bar mounts.
