Rough shifting

Yesterday I replaced the glow plugs on my 1995 e300 diesel car. Now the transmission shifts with 'jerk' (too fast). Can anyone tell me what I have done. Does the transmission shift depend on the throttle linkage or vacumn. I did have a broken vacumn line under the head cover and glued it back. I don't think I have crossed out the vacumn lines going into the intake, but I am old and forgetful.
Thanks

likely you broke or popped off a vacuum connector.
the shift harshness is vacuum controlled.

Thanks for the info vstech!
I removed the portion of the intake that goes over the top of the head, the noise supprressor over the injectors and looked for a loose vacumn hose. I found that one had been popped off on the "modulator?" under the bigger part of the intake. I slipped it back on the fitting, replace the other parts that I had removed drove the car around the block and presto-it shifted normally.
Thanks again for the info.
