Effective cost efficiency of 140mpg?
Someone explain this to me please
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/2223890169.html I think I can take the award for the largest MPG claim and a 1 million mile car claim in one craigslist ad! |
His thinking is this:
His fuel is 20% D2, 80% WVO, which is free to him. His $/mile is 1/5th of cost for 100%D2 Another way of looking at it is he drives 140 miles/purchased gallon of D2. |
I think what he is trying to say is at his cost for WVO, it would be like getting 140mpg compared to today's fuel prices?

Located in Ontario and on LA's craigslist...hmmm...Not to mention, "no conversion" - I wonder how that WVO runs in the winter up in Ontario...

Using my WVO system I've gotten as high as 173mpg on the diesel fuel that I paid for. I drove 1102 miles using 6.349 of diesel, and I don't know how many gallons of veg oil:D. So what my pocket book sees is that I'm getting 173 mpg, but the car is really getting in the 20's. When my wife was driving the car she was averaging 77mpg, I'm averaging 42mpg. When my wife was driving the 240D it cost me $.0001 / mile (yes thats 1/10th of a penny/mile), and it cost me $.11 per mile to drive the 300TD. These included all the maintenance, the diesel, and the cost of my veg oil, filtering equipment and electricity for heating it. It has saved me a ton of money and the car still runs like a top.
