If you have a video camera, why not take a short video of the OP gauge demonstrating the behavior (preferably with both the tachometer and the oil gauge visible if you can manage it) and that way we'll know for sure.
Most digital still cameras have a video mode nowadays; you don't have to have a camcorder. |

subbing. i notice mine sits around 1.5-2 at startup and maxes out at 3 during acceleration and driving.

Mine (the 85 listed below) never goes below the 2 and approximately 1/3 mark, even after a long high speed hot weather pull on a long (3 hour) run. And in the winter it never gets below the 2.5 mark, regardless. And on cold startup it's always pegged, I think as it should be. Needs a valve adjustment, though.
