Sure. You name the amount. And I will give you 10:1 odds that a bad glow plug won't cause the timer device to recycle at random.

No such "communication" is possible. On an '84 model, the temp sensor is in the timer device. There is no interface whatsoever between the timer and the engine temp sensor.
