Thank Kerry,
I saw one for the vacuum controlled version already, that's what gave me the idea. Then I saw Audiovox/Rostra had a elect servo type that replaced it the old vacuum type. I reviewed all the installation manual instructions and it seems pretty simple. I have all the wires down. I have installed aftermarket cruise before without any issues (except I messed up the clutch switch but that was a learning moment...) Also from what I read it appears that VSS is 8000ppm does anyone know differently? |

85 300SD cruise
Latest on my cruise is after replaceing the amp and switch on column and then cleaning the female sockets of the actuator I can get the cruise to engage fairly quickly with just the right touch on the lever it might knock off if I hit a bump but if I engage it again it hold will for good with steady speed. It is not perfect but I think I can live with it the way it is.I did purchase a used actuator and might replace that yet to see if it makes improvement.Might try to resolder old amp as not ready to send it off to GDL for rebuilding for $245.Going to look at the old amp under a magnifieing glass to see if I see any cracks in solder points.

What do you think the problem was?
