Be careful when putting the headrests back into the slots, DO NOT mix one of the outboard and one of the inboard holes. There's a thread on here about this mistake happening and it was very hard to remove.
And be careful when lowering the backrest down, keep your hands off as they can get caught in between.

Couple of thoughts here about getting 2nd row seats removed if they are stuck because they were inserted backward or if the release mechanism is broken....
1 - I used a floor jack to remove my rear headrest and it popped out. Just placed it between the bottom of the headrest and the top of the seatback. (use protective material on seatback and headrest to protect the uphostery). 2 - After removing the headrest, I removed the small retention "nub" at the bottom of the post of the headrest so it would not get stuck in the seatback again. I just used an angle grinder, but a hacksaw would do. 3 - Now the headrest will never get caught in the hold mechanism on any of the seating positions. I assume they are required to be held in place due to crash safety standards, so I probably won't remove the nubs from the other two headrests, but I'm tempted! |

Are you pushing in the release button? This is located on the body right next to the latch. It is a safety catch for the seat backs and needs to be depressed while pulling the seat back forward.
