Duct tape!
Love the roll of duct tape. It's the simple things that make my day!
I know I have sat drinks on the floor often (before I did my cupholders) and this would have done the trick. Awesome! |

I have seen similar ideas, but it was utilizing the package tray with a piece of wood with two cutouts...

I prefer the cupholder in the center-tray, where it won"t interfere with the radio or climate-controls. Plus the weight of large cups is better supported by the tray, vs hanging them on some spindly support jutting from the dash.
On my two W123s, I cut the hanger off a couple of those plastic cupholders. Then attached one to the front of each center-tray with a single stainless #10 philips screw through the bottom of the cupholder. That still leaves enough space in the tray for other items and keeps the lighter and ashtray availible (for 12V accesories and loose change - I don't smoke) If the idea of driving a single screw through your tray makes you cringe, a heavy insert with one or two cup-holes would work.

RODT (Roll of Duct Tape(tm)) is portable, useful, effective, hypoallergenic, non-carcenogenic, inexpensive.
