oil filter housing difference 617 ???

I am working on my swap, seems the engine I have is out of an SD or something later then my coupe. the oil filter housing has an electric sensor instead of the port for the mechanical oil pressure line. It looks like I have a couple options.

1, swap the oil filter housing to my old one
2, swap only the rear plate which is where the electric and port for the mechanical one is located
3, put an elbow in place of the electric sensor, will add depth, not sure if it will hit firewall

any suggestions? which gaskets are readily available? Are there other internal differences?

thanx

I'd recommend checking EPC and plugging in part numbers. It may help identify what parts you could use/would need to try your different options.

There are external differences between the 617.952 and 617.951 oil filter housings. So the rear plate will not fit. Internally they are the same. Your best bet is to swap out the housing with your original unit. FWIW even if you had the correct housing in the first place, I would replace that housing gasket for peace of mind. So that housing would be removed anyways.

This may not help but it is "just" a simple gasket - you could cut your own if that turns out to be necessary (It might be quicker - I don't know)
