new motor for the coupe, what should I service b4 install

getting the new motor ready for the coupe. I will need to change the filter housing so I am going to get the gasket. What else should I replace while the engine is out and I can access everything? I am going to put in my 300D flywheel, brand new oil cooler hoses, new filter rubber stands and now the oil filter housing gasket

Turbo oil return line bushing + o-rings.
Check the nuts, bolts, clips, etc on the back of the engine.
Inspect the oil supply line on the back for any chafing.
What about A/C o-rings? Was it evacuated or is the compressor off the car?
Grommets or bushings on the firewall?
Any rust removal or treatment needed under the battery tray?
Torsion bar bushings?
Alternator backet/bolts?
Primer pump gasket?
Backflush the heater core?
Tranny cooler lines?

Review some of Army's threads on his rebuild and get ideas on what's in there.

Is the tranny out, too, or just the engine?

OK, plan now is to

swap oil filter housing
change upper pan check valve
replace turbo drain orings and seal
swap oil pans, new engine was layed on ground on the oil pan and its crushed in about 1/2 inch

went to MB dealer sunday, check valve is no longer available but he said they should find it, we'll see

It seems like I read some where here on the forum, that the check valve for the vacuum pump is the same, Roy, Whunter will know for sure.

Can the check valve be washed out and reused?

I haven`t seen the two side by side.

EDIT:

OH lookee what I found
617 engine, replacing the oil separator check valve in the upper oil pan.
