Also Homemade:
The one in the first to pics on the left is made by one of our members and is in the DIY section under Home Made tools. It functions similar to the Klann type ones.

The middle one is one made by Me and it pulls the Spring up into the Spring Perch. The Threaded Rod is long enough that you can remove the Spring but it us a lot of turning of the nut to get it loose. Also when the spring is compressed you cannot close the Hood because the Rod sticks out. Also I needed to use a Crows Foot to turn the Nut because there is no room under the hood for a regular wrench.

The last 2 pics are a Hook Type Spring Compressor that I made so I could have something that would work on Mercedes and also work on other Vehicles.

if I were going to make my own, I'd get a bearing from a balancer installation tool, and mount a nut on that... eliminate wear on the nut...

Sorry for being so tardy in letting everyone know how I made out. I have had to wait as my wife has health problems so I have been pulling both oars for the past few weeks.
Not so good with the fabricated coil spring compressor. I can't get the spring to compress enough to install. I guess I need the correct tool (Klann?).
Please pm me or shoot me an e-mail as to the availability of your tool. If there is anyone near Falmouth Mass. (Cape Cod) I sure would appreciate your help with a rental.

Thanks

Thank you Billyboborama

I want to thank Phil..............He was kind enough to reply to my request for a Baum spring compressor. What a gentlemen, he would not even take a rental payment from me. The job went easy and my wife's car is back on the road.
Also, thanks to Diesel Dan for his helpful advice.
