Motor mounts? I don't know since I've never had idle shake. I sometimes suffer from idle curiosity or make idle remarks, but I've never had idle shake . . .

X2 on mounts. They will make the whole car shake.

Does this occur at all engine temps?

If only at operating temperature, you may have a rack damper bolt/pin issue.

leave hood open as you shut car down and see how much the motor rocks. Mine was not that bad at idle but at shutdown would rock so much that the power steering belt would rub on the oil cooler line.

Try your motor mounts, transmission mount, and engine shocks.

I would start with a valve adjustment, then fuel filters.

It is amazing what the valve adj will accomplish if it hasn`t been done in a loooooong time.

X2 on the Valve adjustment.
You may not get an accurate Compression or Leak Back Test if your Valves are not previously adjusted and the Engine Run a little to seat the Valves after the Adjustment.

Air Leaks:
Replace the 2 sections of Fuel Inlet Hose with 5/16" Fuel Hose from the Auto Parts Store; it is rated for Diesel.
Inspect your plastic Primary Filter for Cracks.

If it has the Old Style Hand Primer with the shiny Aluminum Body that is a well know source of Air Leaks.

If you decide you need Motor Mounts a member over on Benz World bought some from the Dealer and found they were made in Turkey.
I bought some Lemforders for aroud $22 and found they were also made in Turkey and appeared to have the Merceds Star ground off of them.
The pics of that are in the below thread:

Motor mounts are not hard to see. Checking those first is probably the easiest thing to do. If they're extremely compressed and/or misshapen, that would be a fairly easy & inexspensive repair.

There is cheaper motor mounts but members have been saying that the Cheaper ones do last a year or 2.
I have had a cheapie set on my Car for about 3 years. The driverside one looks slighty squashed but otherwise they are OK. However, I was able to get rid of my abnormal shaking. If I still had a lot of shaking I my mounts might not have lasted this long.

If your Powersteering Belt is starting to get too close to your Oil Cooler Hoses that could be a sign the Mount on that side is compressed too much.
They are easier to see from under the car.

I bought the Lemforders because I believe I will need them later and because the prices on some of the parts has been creeping up. So I figured get them now.
