They're not rare here - but with postage that probably won't help...

sd300td 03-18-2011 01:30 PM

If it helps, think about how much time you'll spend cleaning the mesh area and polishing the lips...

Love polished lips but hate trying to keep them clean.

winmutt 03-18-2011 01:51 PM

Not overly rare but those are quite pretty. Polished lip is easy to keep clean, its the mesh thats a PITA.

Yah over here we put rims right in the dishwasher, two at a time, and throw in a "Powerball" :D

vstech 03-18-2011 03:06 PM

Agreed on the mesh, but gotta disagree on the lips. Clean is one thing, but keeping that mirror-like shine is a whole different ballgame.

The problem is not hoarding, you just dont have a big enough shed !!!;)

thayer 03-19-2011 07:21 AM

don't this 15s have a better ride...(if you are adjusting the tire size as to maintain the correct speedo calibration)?

On my 83, I put rims from a 2nd gen w126 and had to install lower profile tires to maintain speedo calibration. And as a result, the wear on the outside of the tires is more severe than the inside. I'm going to go add 5lbs into each tire right now. Be back in a bit.

if you are getting wear on one side or the other, suspension components are out of whack... if it's BOTH sides, then it's tire pressure...
IF outside diameter is same as O.E. Tire, then wheel size makes no difference in tire wear... unless Width is changed... width increase can change steering geometry, and result in wear.

Well I was cooking the high temperature paint on my exhaust manifold in the oven not so long ago (shhhh don't tell the wife)... I guess I could fit a 14 or 15 inch wheel in my dishwasher... I mean anything for an easy life right?

As with any powered cleaned device my first worry is with it damaging the paint/finish on the wheels WHEN brake dust or dirt gets into the cloth.

t walgamuth 03-19-2011 02:40 PM

Anybody know what they fit?

I think they'd look cool on my freshened 85 SD.

I've seen them on W115s, W123s and W126s over here
