I shipped Norm from Wichita to Sarasota for $945, which to me I think is pretty cheap. Try uShip.com and see what offers they give you.

WOW! Fuel cost or shipping cost is it really that good of a deal? Use the money to buy something closer or newer. Approx 150 gallons of fuel at $3.50 a gallon that's about $525 in fuel alone add in food, hotels and expense to get out to get it maybe another $475 looks like the area of $1000ish. Could it be better spent on a closer vehicle?

I once bid on a vehicle under the influence and won. Drove the vehicle from LAX to JAX, FL. I was already going to be in LAX. It worked out for me. Got to do a great road trip. It's all part of the experience. Good luck on whatever you decide. Hope you find a great ride.

there are a lot of brokers that find trucks for you. i live in florida and right now i tend to avoid shipping cars because of all the snowbirds, normally when i first moved here i shipped my car for 27cents a mile, right now during the busy season its almost doubled at 51cents. im assuming some of that is due to fuel (as i moved here in 2005) but when i recently looked at moving a 220d, i called some brokers, you pay them a fee of like 100 and they get u a trucker thats empty.

most of these brokerage firms have insurance, and i havent heard of any bad stories.

I used VIP Auto Transport about a year ago, Pa to La for around $950 and was completely satisfied. It was an enclosed, dedicated auto trailer.
Tell them you are flexible on pickup and delivery dates, and offer to meet them and pick the car up if they come through within, say, 50 to 100 miles of you, and you can get a better price than if you insist on specific dates and delivery points. At least it worked for me.
