Oops

My apologies, I should have posted an explanation with that comment. No offense was intended.

It was more of a "I'm proud to be from out of country because that way I have an excuse when people catch me driving on the left side of the road."

Heheh

Honestly, I've made a fool out of myself more than once when I go to leave a wallmart or something similar and enter the passenger side before active thought begins and I remember the drivers side is on the wrong side.

Anthony, that is pretty funny. I think the best thing England could do for tourism would be convert to the right side of the road.... Then lots of Americans could come over there and get rental cars and drive all around..... The English would probably consider that worse than being invaded by the French ...... LOL

Heh, I can imagine some one getting in their passenger seat and freak out cause there's no steering wheel in front of them

As far as time, it's going to be some time in the middle of March, right? Place: Temple would be ideal for me, but if we have it further south I'm sure I could manage.

I could see the red flowing done my head now!

Greetings,

Nice thought about going out for bread and butter, but it's the hell to pay when you get back, I'd rather not see. You know the ole saying about the fury or a woman? You also know why they call those nice heavy skillets Wear-Ever I'll bet to. They work wear-ever you slam them down.
Larry, where is Queen Whilhemena Sate Park on the Talimena drive? Personally, if I were having one in my home state I'd have it at one of the many state parks we have that are on the Lake. If you get tired of diesel talk you can always go fishing.

Charles

An extra hour driving when your tired will let your car get mischevious. (It'll start hitting things for the sake of hitting stuff, and when you wake up, it'll try to blame it on you. I've seen it happen)

where is Queen Whilhemena Sate Park on the Talimena drive?

Can-Do,

You know where Mena, Arkansas is? The Queen is just outside of Mena, Mena is on US 270W about an hour and a half south of Ft. Smith if memory serves me.

Lol, thanks Bill.

I might have a friend tag along, he could drive some of the way if I really start dosing off.

I was just looking over my plans for replacing all the stuff on my car and I realized that I scheduled the rear-end rebuild for spring break (the week of March 10-17).

In other words, if at possible could we have the shin dig on the 10th and/or the 11th so I have the rest of the week to rebuild the rear end?

When I rebuilt the Front end it took me a good 5 days to do. On the rear I don't think it will take me more then 3-4 (I already know how and have the tools to take out the drive shafts if I need to, everything else is bolt off, bolt on). I would be able to do a lot better job if I didn't have the pressure of a deadline. If Larry can't make it on the 10th or 11th I wouldn't mind as much working that week with a deadline, but would like to avoid it.

Just something to keep in mind.

Scratch that last post.

I just looked at the Service CD and replacing the subframe mounts is pretty easy. I thought it involved removal of the whole axle, etc. After looking at the CD I now know that the biggest deal is pushing the driveshaft out of the wheel bearing hub, which is pretty easy.

Dang I love working on these cars.

Yay

March 10th is fine with me as well. I just need someone to post an exact address or something similar so I can get directions from where I live. I'll almost certainly be there.

Okay, our tour schedule is now solid (I think.) It has been radically changed. I end up near Calgary on Friday, March 8 and others are staying to ski at Black Foot. If we can do this on March 10th. I will give up the ski trip to see you guys.

I have a grueling schedule beginning Monday morning and will be traveling every night that week, so I don't want to get back to the Dallas area too late on Sunday night. For that reason, the farther North it is will be best for me. How about a compromise and make it in Salado(sp?) Isn't there a park there of some sort? We could eat at the StageCoach INN. Maybe meet there for lunch and if some of us are early and we have a head count we can get a table for everyone and we show up between, say 11:30AM and 1:30PM, then after lunch we can take it to the park.

This is just a suggestion, I'm not trying to take over or anything. I will go as far South as Austin if I have to, although the traffic in the Austin area will add a lot of time to my drive back home, causing me to leave earlier.

Let me know,

This works for me also.... I will check on availability of McKinney for that Sunday, and any rules... McKinney is an LCRA park as compared to other types... but I will find something , and post information... So the date is finalized, the meeting place somewhere around Austin, pending further considering ?
Larry, actually if Mckinney falls (or BAstrop State Park )is the meeting place it is easy to avoid Austin entirely , and I will provide maps to show how... We go north from Elgin all the time and always use 95, it hits IH35 at Dodgen LOOP just north of Temple....... nice road and almost no traffic, except old tractor sometimes.. LOL.. Greg
