300D\SD in vancouver BC?

I know this is a long shot but I'm looking to replace my 1979 300D that I sold a couple of weeks ago and am having trouble finding one. Figured there might be a member in the lower mainland looking to sell or knows someone who is... I'd prefer an SD but will look at\am interested in both.
-thanks

Hey

My vehicle is not for sale but if you are interested in picking up a 300D or similar in the Interior you might want to call Adrian at Janke Autotech in Vernon. He often has a line on older Benz's for sale.

My experience is that Benz's are completely over-priced in BC compared to the Ontario or US market. I would look at Craigslist in Seattle or Portland and import it. It's really not that complicated.

Good luck!

This here is the truth!! Having said that, I did see a 300 in Squamish that a guy was asking $800 for. I really want a TD with 3rd row seats. No luck finding one here.

Yeah they are a little ridicules for what you get around here. You just have to play the waiting game till you find one with an owner who knows what its actually worth.. There's been a 240 in new west for upwards of 2 years now and he hasn't lowered his price from close to 3 grand... people are crazy...

Okay, wrong end of the country, but here goes:

I have a 300td, 1980 but a strong NA motor. Imported from Texas. Not rust free but has original factory exhaust, which gives an idea of how solid it is underneath. Never driven in our local winter. Pile of stuff done (rad, windshield, servo, etc.).

Has some issues with climate control and a dented fender (I have a spare).

PM me if interested.

Less and less of these earlier cars available as time goes forward. Only normal I think. Still there are still some around. Certainly far less than five years ago in some areas.

Very scarce now on the east coast of Canada for example as I have not seen one on the road locally this year. Did stop and look at a 300CD in a persons driveway that had a for sale sign on it about 30 miles away this summer. It was total junk unfortunately.

Yeah they are getting harder to find. They seem to go in spurts where there are a bunch for sale, and then none (usually when I' looking it seems)...lol

I did know of an SD that was sort of for sale in BC (Chilliwack, I think). It was brought in from USA. I don't know if it is still for sale. It is/was owned by a long time Mercedes lover who like me, may have had trouble parting with it.

Yeah there's an SD for sale out there right now, has pentas on it, is that the one? I'm sort of more interested in a 300D or TD this time around. I had an SD before the wagon and did really like it, but haven't owned a turbo w123 yet so that's top of my list.... wouldn't say no to a w124 diesel either... If I can't find one of those then I'll probably look at getting back into a 300SD, they seem a lot more plentiful.

Perhaps a bit far but they only show up around here every 5 or so years. Here's a link to one that just popped up.

If only the overall claimed milage where true. Kilometer conversion to miles is only about 120k miles. Unfortunatly it seldom is.
