front pass. carpets wet 83 300D

Hi all. I hadn't driven for about a week and today I found my front pass side carpets are wet. The car was parked on the left side so pass. side was slightly higher, weather has been small amounts of snow which I didnt remove and rain with temps below freezing at night. the question is if a somethinng is plugged or worn out what? or where? or could snow ice have temporarily blocked up a drain. the carpet just inside the door over the rocker panels is wet as well but I have no idea about the waters route. The trunk is dry and the car has a sunroof. Thanks.
Gregg

It's possibly coming from the windshield gasket. On mine I had the same problem. I went and coated the rim of the gasket where it meets the glass with silicone sealant (clear). That solved the problem for me.

I had a similar leak on my car,I found rust under the battery and in the hinge pocket from plugged up drains. You have to pull the battery tray out to get at the seam between the firewall and inner fender. If rust isn't the problem it could be the windshield seal (my rear window leaks )or just a plugged drain.Check the hinge area and look inside the fender at the back you should see a tube running part way down ,try poking a wire up it to clear it.Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone. I just looked at the windshield and am certain that it is leaking thru there I will seal that up and check the drains anyone have any favorite silicone products. It's annoying going into Hardware stores and seeing 20 of almost identical products making almost identical claims. While were on the subject anyone know if the new "original formula" shoe goo is as good as the old stuff. Thanks again.

Just get some Permatex Windshield Gasket Sealant, or get clear silicone goop from a Autoparts store.
