Hi Guys,

I pulled the Monovalves and the whole Heater valve assmby and I noticed the bottom part of the valve (where the brass plungers go down) is not a smooth seal.

What parts should I grease up to see if it works?

Is there a way to rig it up where I dont get ANY hot antifreeze to the heater ( so my AC will work).

Im in FL and I dont really care about a heater but at over 100F I need a working AC!!

Here are some pics.

Pls let me know what I can do.

thanks

1/2 hot & 1/2 cold

Hopefully the problem has already been fixed.
I had the same problem as originally described in this thread in my 1999 E300 Turbodiesel. Changed the Duovalve and it has been great since that was done about 18 months ago at approx. 235,000 miles.

The way to tell for sure if the problem is the duovalve is to put a clamp on the pipe from the valve to the engine. Then you will have no coolant flowing to the heater cores.

If the vents are the same (cold) temperature, the AC is fine and the problem is in the heater.

Left side still much warmer than the right? You have low refrigerant flow, caused by insufficient fill, a restriction, or contaminants like air or too much oil.

Mine was low freon.. as yall said.. but putting the cans in didnt work.. I had to have it sucked out and put back in.. I was down 1.5 lbs.

It was about 85 bones... and now I have AC in FL in the summer...

THat is the up side.. Down side is that they used the sniffer and found a few small freon leaks... so no clue how long the freon will last. BUMMER.
