1 - 2 shift flare

85 300sd What causes/corrects a flare in 1-2 with other shifts being firm?

Low fluid level would be one cause

High vacuum could be another. Search on Superior shift kit.

The Superior Shift Kit has a spring to address that issue. You have to remove and open the valve body to install it.
