Diesel fuel leaked out of tank onto paint/bumper guard

OK, I was stupid and left a bottle of diesel additive draining into the fuel tank and forgot about it and drove off. When I turned left, diesel fuel spilled out onto the paint and the right bumper guard (the black part). When discovered I immediately took it to a super car wash and washed it.

Then, when I got home I sprayed the area with Simple Green and let it soak in, then rinsed. Sprayed it again and scrubbed both the paint and the bumper guard with a soft scrubbee, then let it sit a while and rinsed again. Is there anything else that I can do to dissolve the oily diesel fuel?

I'm guessing those parts typically get diesel on them. I wouldn't worry about it.

Soap and water. If you didn't get it all off this time you will the next time you wash the car.

That`s good it is all better.
A little diesel spilt on the paint etc... isn`t going to hurt anything. It will not discolor the paint or remove it. Loosing $5 to $10 worth of fuel is a worse calamity. (at calif prices)

On a happy note, maybe a Prius slipped in it and got a Boo Boo.

what a horrible sentiment! it would be a tragedy indeed if ANY motor vehicle slipped in a fuel spill. cars are important, and they cannot defend themselves. I'm a strong supporter of PETA (Persons for the Ethical Treatment of Automobiles), and cannot abide this horrible statement. I'll be following up with a strong lawsuit, and passing your comments on to my superiors...
now, if the Prius DRIVER slipped in the fuel spill, then it's all good!

I know a few Prius owners and they all seem to fit the "Certified Genuine Tree Hugger" category.
