Nice, I like the 8-hole wheel upgrade.

I like the wheels too. The previous owner just put them on. They are from tire rack. They are 16s with ZR1 tires. Nitrogen filled but I will probably just use free air. I still can't believe I got this car for $2000

Free air, which is primarily nitrogen. Sounds good to me. The air that is in the tires now is probably around 90% nitrogen since they started with a tire full of of normal air, and added 2x more in nitrogen. One of the more laughable scams out there.

The fog-light lenses look smoked, I think it looks nice, is this just the photo? Is the interior as nice as the body looks? My '91 SDL was smoke silver with mushroom leather, I really like that combination.

I see what you did there

Nice car. I might move on to the world of 603 engines one of these days. Probably not for a while though.

Here are the tires http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Fuzion&tireModel=ZRi&frontTire=255WR6ZRI&rearTire=45WR6ZRI&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Mercedes-Benz&autoYear=1987&autoModel=300SDL&autoModClar=
The wheels use the original MB center cap so at first they look like very nice factory wheels.
The fog light is trashed because someone broke the clip that keeps the fog light sealed. I wanted to buy a junk 420sel just to get the light housing. So it isn't the fog light per say but the entire housing. It still works though. The interior was perfect. It is an icky yellow color now but I know that wasn't the original color. There are a few broken things now but I did them fixing electrical issues. The plastic looks perfect but is very brittle. Driver seat spring is a little weak. There seems to be diesel soot throughout the car, The carpet is a very light tan almost off white and shows the soot easily. I think the soot was from the under hood exhaust leak from my other post.

Once I got this 603 running correctly it is an amazing engine. Power is great. It is pulling hills like a champ. It seems to pull hard in top gear from 80 MPH. This is a big car so getting 28MPG on original injectors at 80 MPH I think is amazing. I still can't believe it upshifts from first gear at 5200 rpm. It really feels like a gas motor

What are you worried about?
I was almost killed seven times not on the road, and had a doctor misdiagnose a collapsing artery as acid reflux, necessitating midnight surgery right from the ER.

And you're worried about a vacuum pump?

I almost woke up dead that day.

Perhaps the daughter will end up with another car. Kids frequently don't appreciate old cars.
