W115 Primer Pump location on a '75 300D?

Am I missing something here? I see a lift pump mounted on the driver side of the IP pump and do not see a primer pump on the IP or at the canister for the secondary fuel filter??? Am I missing something here?

Anyone? Is it under one of the bolts at the canister?

I looked at a '76 and the manual pump is next in line after the secondary filter.
Location is up high on the front drivers side of the motor.

Mine appears to be missing -apparently, some owners opt to remove theirs - which makes priming a pita!

I came across one of those at PNP today. when I first saw it, what`s this weard looking thing? fiddled with it a little and figured out what it was. someone had removed the fuel line and it squirted some fuel.

These Primer Bulb type Pumps work. However, they are better for temp use and removed when done.

Where I worked back in the 1970s we installed them on some of our customers vehicles. In about 1.5 years they needed to be replaced.

The lower quality ones might not even last that long. That is why I say they are better off removed after use.

If you buy with the exception of the Bulb the rest should be made of Metal. The ones with Plastic Nipples on the ends do not hold up and their valves are no so good.
Boating shops sell them.

The other pic is a Flag; made in Germany add hand primer. Flag Numbaf: 90 1007; Feference 0 440 011 007
I have no idea where you would buy this one.

I may have a spare unit also from my 1976 300D that went to the crusher. Let me know if you need one and I will check the garage.

Thanks! I am wondering where it originally mounted on my car -anyone have a pic of where the '75 -76 primer pump mounts?

Is it that your Fuel Supply/Lift pump has no place at all for the Hand Primer or is the spot where the Hand Primer would go have a screwed in Plug?
If it has a screwed in Plug you could remove the Plug and add the Hand Primer (after some research on which Hand Primer to use).

thanks, I was thinking the same thing! I have what looks to be an extra port on my lift pump so I thought I would remove and screw in later style primer pump and see if that works

Deja vu all over again. :)

FWIW, mine is located Topside on the driver's side, right at the large fuel filter. I also installed one of those marine type in-line squeeze pumps about 10 years ago. I haven't used it in years.... But I never bothered to take it out, so it is still there in case I need it. A pic may be helpful here... Anyone have one they can post?

I hate threads w/o any closure.

I pulled the pump, PM`d Warmblood, and mailed it. should have it by thursday.
