The green one with the long wires caused the aux fan to come on(on top of the dryer) the other one did nothing.(pressure switch)

If you jump the switches and the compressor still does not come on then it is likely to be the Kilma relay. Did you press others buttons on the CCU, like the 'snow flake' button + the speed buttons?

The Kilma for the 190D is 001 545 81 05. You can try a gas one 001 545 74 05. This one works but you will loose the tach counter. The tach counter function is tied to the Kilma.

If it does not work then it is just a matter of replacing the relay and/or the CCU. You can try limited function of the CCU by calling for heat and see whether the temp control and blower function work. Otherwise it is just an elimination game.

Good luck.

Thanks, I know of a 84 190D in a salvage yard I will get the kilma off that one, if it is still there. Is there a way to test before I buy it?

I do not know as the Kilma is a complicated electronic device. You can further eliminate the CCU by doing the following test.

1) Jump the 2 switches at the rec/drier as before.
2) Remove the Kilma relay, set CCU to all OFF.
3) Start car or put ignition key to run position.
4) Identify PIN 10 and measure the voltage of PIN 10 to chassis. It should be 12V if I remember correctly.
5) Call for A/C
6) PIN 10 should toggle to 0V. That is the signal to Kilma to switch on compressor.
7) I do not remember exactly how the voltage toggles. It could be toggling from 0V to 12V like the W126. Some model toggles from 12V to 0V.
8) If the voltage toggles then the CCU is 99% OK. You can verify it by removing the jumper on the low pressure switch to simulate NO freon. The voltage should toggle back to switch off the compressor. This verifies the CCU is monitoring the freon pressure.

This test eliminates the CCU further. It works for me in the past.

Good luck.
