Hello everyone this is my first post so i think this is the correct area to post this.. Ive looked long on searching the site but cannot find what im looking for. I recently purchased Goldenbear's 1987 300sdl and he was let me know the front driver side window was having problems... Well it finally gave out so i decided to tackle the job being the wealth of knowledge on this site So panel off and window regulator apart There are teeth missing from the regulator so ordered a new one..... My concern is when removed the part where the teeth is and theyre is a cap which also seems to of
Had a plastic guide so the teeth stAys on its track i think because it looks without a guide the window regulator would be allowed to flex from side to side and eventually fail again. The piece is the cap for the small gear with two bolts .So my question is , is theyre a kit i can buy or can i make one up or am i missing something??? Thanks and i appreciate any help ....... I think what you are talking about simply keeps the grease in and around the gear and dust out. Post a photo if you can.

I've been through my SDL regulators so probably can help.

Thanks for your reply, i found the piece while me and the brother in-law where looking at the innards of the door, ill take a pic an post it so if ne one has the same problem maybe it can help them find a piece or fab something up...... Its a little white piece of plastic, one goes on the inside an one on the other side to keep the regulator on track an like you said helps keep the grease on it.
