300TD rear headrest removal -- what's the trick?

So, this weekend I tried to fold down the rear seats in my 300TD for the first time. I was able to pull the headrest out of the narrow side, but the headrest for the wider side comes out about six inches and then stops, like there's some kind of latch holding it in place. How do I release it so I can get it out and fold down the seat? The owner's manual is no help; it just says "remove headrests."

it's probably like the front seat headrests. There's a button under the upholstery that needs to be pressed to release the headrest.

It's a plastic button about 1/2 way down the back of the seat. You push it in and kind of wiggle the headrest as you pull it out.

The plastic is the same color as the upholstery and my be a little buried, but look closely from the rear of the vehicle and you will see them. There is 1 per headrest.

Thanks, knew it had to be something simple I was overlooking.
