pulling the 603 head question

So I'm pulling the 603 head and close to and below the timing chain appears to be a allen headed bolt low and on the passenger side. Any clue as to what fits that so I can complete the pulling job? The car is not at my house so I'll want to bring the correct tools to the car. Thanks
William

Unless you mean the timing chain tensioner (32 mm socket), there is no such bolt on the OM603 engine. I just pulled and replaced my 603 head and found nothing that would match your description.

If you're talking about the two allen-head bolts down in the timing chain cavity, I believe that they're 6mm but might be 5mm.

Oh, inside the timing case! Thought you meant outside. Yes, 6 mm. Make sure you have a high-quality hex tool, these bolts are tight and you don't want to break your tool or strip the head. Also, stuff some rags into the chain case and have a magnet handy. The screw heads have a washer that you don't want to drop.
