W115 GP's use crush washers? Anyone know?

Pulled the gp's from my new toy '75 300d w115 car and found that in addition to being loose, there were no crush washers -anyone know if the w115 300d car used them to seal GP's? Thanks!

James

Interesting . . . and mine were loose to boot which would explain some difficulty in starting. I ordered the fast glow kit which should come with new crush washers. So flat side to gp face or block, not sure what you meant by "up"

just noticed your link, that is an injector heat shield for an injector, not a crush washer (if one is even required) for a glow plug -anyone else know? Thanks just the same -

No, no crush washers. Yours are in series tho, meaning if one fails, none will work.

Many members of the various Mecedes forums say the updated to Pencile type glow plugs is much better and if one goes bad the others can still work.

Most recommend only buying the Glow Plugs and making your own Jumper Wires.
I know from what I have read that the 1976 Glow Plug relays will not work with them because it has a Max of 50 amps.
If your present Relay uses an 80 amp Fuse there is a good chance it could work.
On the systems with no Relay where you pull a knob out I believe just using the updated Glow Plugs is OK.

See our DIY sections for more details:
