What is the switch on throttle linkage

I have a 1993 300d 2.5 turbo. I have a post about excssive smoking posted and still trying to track cause.

I noticed a three prong switch / sensor on the throttle linkage over the valve cover. Does anyone have a pic of this arrangement,? There is a bolt hole beside it with nothing there, just curious if any thing should be there for the switch / sensor to sense?

I checked the SM wiring diagrams and it appears to be the "control rod sensor" but not sure I'm reading the diagram correctly. What does the switch / sensor up there do?

AC shutoff?

My car is the 90 300D 2.5 and it has two sets of micro-switches. The nylon (?) races that trigger them switch at different throttle positions.

As above I've been told one is AC related but I do not know the purpose of the other.

I'd like to though.

So having done gsxr's conversion it's now probably inactive?

Micro switches on "Throttle" Linkage

AAA and P.F. have got "it".

(And the D.M. "Wastegate"ectomy negates the EGR switch)

Two Microswitches:
Rear one, I believe, is EGR and the Front one is WOT A.C. shutoff.

Thanks. I like knowing what's doing what on my car.

PS - The ...ectomy is a GREAT mod and once one gets over whatever trepidation they have about doing it it's pretty straight forward, except, perhaps getting that clip off the first time!
