parking brake shoes w126 vs w116
 

I have a 1984 300SD Turbodiesel (w126) which I use for parts - my daily driver is a 1980 300SD Turbodiesel (w116)

The problem is:
The parking brake in the w116 doesn't work at all - no functionality when engaged.

Now my questions:
1. what would be the best idea to fix this?
2. can I use the w126 brake shoes for a w116 parking brake?
3. are the cables of a w126 the same as for a w116?
