I got the 79 SD up to 107 on a flat straightaway. New fuel filters, new oil and filter, adjusted fuel mix to a bit more rich and a dose of Power Service.

The 603 engine is rev limited (computer control) to 4600 rpm, usually gives an indicated speed of 110-117 mph. It would probably go faster, but I would think wouls also bend a rod or three! My old 220D with auto will probably to 85 mph flat out, in good shape (which it isn't) -- plenty fast enough for me! Peter |
