Vacuum leak in the dash?

I finally got a mityvac and that thing is great, I have my leak narrowed down to somewhere under the dash. My car is slow to turn off sometimes but I did notice that when I have any of the climate control buttons pushed it turns off right away. Is there a common place that these things leak at under the dash?

there is a manifold for all the HVAC vacuum operations directly under the right passenger air vent.

All of my connections were loose.

You can pull the vent and kinda reach it. Pulling the glovebox will get you better access along with the passenger kickpanel.

Good Luck.

I agree; not easy.

If you can reach it with a long flathead, you should be able to remove it from the bracket it resides in. Then you can pull it down to the passenger foot area.

This may require unbolting the dashboard on that side near the door hinge. -Fuzzy memory syndrome creeping in.
