W126/W123 CV axles

I was following my wife as she was driving the SD last evening and noticed something wet on the driver's side rear. I put it on the lift today and saw that the driver's side CV axle inboard boot was split and lube leaked out. My question is: Is the inner tulip a "flow-through" design from the differential housing to the joint? I had a few out of a W123, but I never pulled the boot off to see if it indeed was true. I think John "vstech" has a reboot thread to purchase rebooted axles that indicated these axles hold their own lube and not the lube from the diff as a "pass-through" design. True?

Thanks for the speedy response. That is good to know, but I also know I am on borrowed time to reboot what I have.

I'd not reboot an axle that has already lost it's fluid! be sure if you are going to reboot, you pull BOTH axles, and totally flush and clean completely the surfaces of the axles! then install them on reverse sides from original.
that way the wear that has happened from being out of lube, is lessened...
