722.120 Soft Shifts & Slippage:
Last week, my wife complained of soft shifts in the 300SD. When I drove it, the shifts were very soft and 4th gear had a distinct flare.
I discovered the plastic clip on the rod that actutates the shift modulator valve (atop the IP) had rotted away and flallen off. Fortunately, I had a spare, and shift quality returned immediately. Posted in hopes this might help others...Robert
