... I have a almost rust free 240 auto for sale... the battery tray got it, and I am doing the CHAD repair on it for an air tight 123.
I'd let it go for 1200.

Nope - I'm not saying that at all.

I dont think I'll get it - but I'm really tempted to. I still have not heard back on the one in Indiana.

In any case - I have listened to all advice - dont be a hater.

What is the CHAD repair?

NC is a little too far for me to go though - I'd still like to find a parts car in the Peoria IL area though - Even if my wife would pitch a fit.

It was the "I will have it on the road and reliable soon - so long as I dont find some other issue that jumps up" statement that threw me.

From your original post, I thought your current car was already on the road which would imply that anything becoming road worthy would be recently purchased..

Sorry about that - The orignial car is running nicely - but the flex joints are shot and I had a wheel bearing start to howl. So at the moment its on jack stands awaiting the parts truck.

I have decided against buying another running car - I still would like a cheap parts car - but you guys are correct - having two marginal cars is really just 2 pits to throw money into. I should be up and reliable soon.

OK - you can have the AC repair's - Maybe I'll get a "busted knuckle" repair. I'll name it something like "@#**!! repair"

Chad has the rust one - Rust is about all I have on my car.

I didn't know there were Mercedes repairs named after people. The only fix I'd previously heard of that was named for a person is the J-mod, named for former Ford transmission engineer Jerry Brewer.
