Repeat Blower regulator failure

Blower regulator failure on my 92 2.5 t w124. Put in a german after market blower and regulator. I tested the blower with the air box shroud off and it seemed to work great. Shut the ignition off and put the air box shroud on and it no longer works.

Was running the blower without the box sealed did that cause the resistor to blow? Or is it just a crappy part. I don't think it is the voltage regulator because I didn't turn the car on. Any thoughts?

running with the cover off wouldnt blow the resisters otherwise I would have blown mine when I ran it.... check the fuses and if they are ok then i would chalk it up to a crappy part

I replugged in the old regulator and the fan blew on low. so either a crappy regulator or something blew it

hmm I would think it would take more to blow it then running the fan w/o the cover..

Running without the cover won't increase the load on the blower, won't overload the speed controller.

Yellow control wire is measuring 9.8 volts when the fan is on high. Could that be blowing the resistor?

Seems like it was a loose connection. Its working now. Still asking the question about the voltage. Thanks
