Dam kids kicked out glass on my new babay!!!Is windshield same in 1983 300D and 300TD

I had the windshields of my 95 C280, 94 E320 Wagon and my new baby 83 300TD.... Found glass for the C280 and E320, but can only find glass for a 83 300D. Need to know if the windshield is the same for a 83 300D is the same as my 83 300TD? Dam kids hit a bunch of houses on my street. They walked from hood to hood kicking out the windshields. Going to kill them if I get my hands on them....

Yes the TD should work. the only W123 that has a different shaped windshield is the Coupe.

I feel for you, that really sucks when a bunch of looser kids/adults w/o anything to do but to vandalize other peoples property. even when they are cought, not much punishment is administered to them. they need to be tied to a tree in the town square and whipped until they couldn`t sit down for a month. OH wait! that can`t happen, they have their rights and then there is the ACLU to protect them.

Maybe we need to spank the parents ?

As they should, when people (or worse, the courts) impose illegal penalties or use illegal actions to convict. Are we, or are we not, a nation of laws?

Of course we do. Hit them in the wallet. Unless any of the kids is 18 of course, and then hit them with felony charges, if the laws allow (and they probably do).

One felony charge is a whole lot worse than not being able to sit down for a month - but might result in the same.

Its stupid kids... There is a park behind my house. They walk through my lawn sometimes. Last week they set fire to a car and when the fire department left they set it on fire again. The wild thing is that I'm in the center of town and we never have this kind of crime. Its a nice safe part of town. Must be a few bad eggs moved in....Problem is even if you catch them and charge/make them pay, they will just come back and do even more damage. People like that should be left in a hole in the woods....

I like the idea of the tree in town square....

Thanks everyone.

it's just monetary loss. monetary reparations should be imposed. they should be forced to get employment, and forced to give the money from that to you.
pfft... reality... ain't nuttin getting done to them.
video proof will accomplish nothing more than your satisfaction of knowing who it is. majority of cops are little more than paper pushers for the insurance company.

There is a larger issue. If you did get someone on tape and the got arrested they would come after you or your Family for turning them in.

If someone came after you and you clearly in self defense defended yourself and beat the person down. You would find yourself being sued for the use of excessive force and up on Criminal Charges for the same.
This means you would be considered a Criminal until a Jury decided your fate. (And, you would need to pay someone to defend you in Court in the Law Suit.)

The Law has progressively taken away the Right of the Citizens to defend themselves without some sort of retribution by the Criminals.

When I was a Kid growing up in the 1950s if you caught someone bashing your Car Window out and beat on Him some and called the Police; when the Police came they shook your Hand and thanked you for catching the Criminal.
If you did that now and the Criminal complained to the Police you used too much force you would be arrested also.

The Law just wants you to be a good law abiding Victim and if you have any property you want to protect they expect you to buy Insurance to cover the damage or theft.

Just beat on them if you can catch them. It is the inaccurate convictions that are the problem, not the accurate.

If we convict, we are now paying $40,000 to $50,000 /yr to house them. Is keeping them locked up worth the price? Sometimes it is. Frequently, it is better to have someone out and at least generating a little income than to lock them up.

We have more people incarcerated calculated both as percentage of population and absolute numbers than any country in the world. I figure it is all about the money. Perhaps it would be more ethical to just throw someone in jail and admit what we're doing than to pretend that we have freedom and rights.

What's minimum wage in the US? (If such a thing exists => sorry yet another dumb question from a European)

No-one is going to jail for breaking some glass unless it's the 5th time they were caught. Try releasing minor drug offenders and people who commit minor property crimes so we don't have to support them. Lock up people who are actually a danger to society.

The federal minimum wage is $7.25, some states are slightly higher.

IANAL, but it was my understanding that vandalism is a felony if the dollar amount exceeds some set figure.

A quote for new glass from the dealer might do it for a single car.
