Cool Highlights & pics of NJ diesel meet

For one, it was cold and started snowing at around 12:15-20. Six of us made it and hung around for two and a half hours. Andrew Fekette got his idle smoothed out (rack D screw) & got his tach working thanks to Jim's (JCD) butt, cigarette butt that is.

The actors:

Jamie Kop- 82 300SD
George-c - 80 300TD
JCD- 77 300D
Andrew Fekette- 83 300TD
Turbodiesel- 87 300SDL
MACANN - 79 300SD

Despite the cold & snow we had a good time. Come spring we'll do it again with a much bigger turnout like last time. It was good seeing you guys again & meeting the new ones.

~George~

This winter in NJ has been more like winter in FL until we want to have a meet. Great time regardless. Good to put faces to names.

I would have stayed home but TurboD. called me a pansie. Had to shake my ass out of the house with that challenge.

The best thing about getting together was to see an excellent variety of MBz diesels. Impressive f'ing cars.

Boy that looks cold!! but FUN. All I could do was go out in our
70 oF. weather and polish the cars! Oh well, another day in Paradise. Bruce from Santa Monica,CA.

Hey, 007. Polish this! (he says, with defiant fist raised in the snowfall and teeth chattering...)

Among all, I like that yellow lab the most.

I am thinking about trading my 300TD for it.

Diesel Meet

Just wanted to give a big "thank you!" to everyone who came out. I had some small but annoying issues that were really no issues for a group of extremely knowledgeable people. I realize now how easy these vehicles are to maintain and how much fun they are to drive. I now have heat over 50mph (oooohhhhh, nice and warm!), the beast from the east is much calmer at the stop signs (rack screw which I will replace when it gets warmer), and a working tach thanks to cigarette butt. It just doesn't get much better.

Thanks to George for the tools...
Thanks to Mccann for the cigarette butt.... which fixed the tach
Thanks to TurboDiesel for showing me a car that I really want now... you guys might find a 300td for sale in the spring....
Thanks to JCD for showing me thing about my car I never knew..
Thanks to Jamie for bringing "Gordon". Just a really cool dog...

See y'all next time. I think I have to start looking for my 300 sdl now...

Adios!

Andrew

Again, I wish I could of been there. All six cars look great. I like the blue W123 with hubcaps. My TD is a little lighter blue than that. Hopefully another meet will take place, possibly in say April. I say April because I am going out of the country on Thursday for 2 months.

It does look like a cool sampling of nice diesels were assembled here. I almost headed east for this gathering, but was talked out of it by my wife and the weather. (My front tires are close to showing the wear bars.) I will definitely try to make it to the next meet. Glad there are so many excellent pics of the event; it's almost like being there ... Andrew, which TD is yours? Just wondering...since I love those cars.

I am envious. Beautiful diesels (I also like the light blue one...but I like the 116, and the big white SD...awhell, I like em all)
Sure looked cold. And being Canadian, I should know cold...but that looked c-c-c-cold.
It would be great if northwestern USA, BC Canada, and some Alberta Canada diesellers could meet somewhere. Maybe on Whidby Is. (off Seattle) at the Pacific Reach park, or up here in Canada where the American dollar goes so much further - like about 50% further. (Just as long as you guys dont buy up all of our cars & take them south)
Its a thought.
You guys in the northeast shouldn't have all the fun. Also, being that the Pacific Northwest is so beautiful in the summer, maybe some of you eastern & southern guys might be tempted to get your diesels out to stretch their legs for a week or so. The Pacific Coast Highway...think about it.

Nice Cars, Nice Guys, Cold Day

Another great NJ Diesel meet. The subject line says it all.

There was alot of technical expertise at the meet, but as is typical, my sole contribution was a cigarette butt.

What is truly cool is...I thing I had the high water mark for the amount any of us paid for our cars. I paid $1,600 and I think that Jamie paid less that $1K.

To answer..."who would buy a diesel",,,,,,no one, keep the demand down so we can continue to obtain these great cars for a low price.

JCD
