Upgrading the Instrument Cluster

Is it possible to use a newer Instrument Cluster (the Speedometer specifically) from a 83-85 300D in an 82 300D.

The difference between the 2 is the top speed indicated: on the 82 it is 85, on the 83+ it's 120 (if I remember correctly).

Two things that may be different are the CC pick up and the trip odometer. My 80 has a metric only speedo that reads to 180 kmh(112 mph),that might be another way to go Capt.

Well I'm not to worried about the CC. I was more worried about if the Speedometer Cable was different.

Not sure Capt but check part numbers, year to year ,that might tell you.I would assume that they are all the same, but you know how that goes.
