Yeah I wanted to refer to a club earlier on when I was whittering on about seals - but I thought that might be poor taste...

Sometimes a new seal needs a little extra force to get the seal lips over the shoulder on the axle. (Some brands of seals are stiffer than others.)
Did you grease the surface where the seal rides? |

Whew! Done.
What a pain, but yes, I did have some lube on the spindle, earlier, but not this time. I ended up doing the emory paper thing and using a cold pack, it's on. Thanks everyone.

UPDATE
Oh what a difference the other side was.
The hub/rotor came off just as soon as I removed the clamping nut. I did have to cold pack the spindle to reinstall, but honestly, a piece of cake, relatively.
