87 300TD rear windows will not open
Rear windows do not go up or down from drivers controls or rear controls, can't believe both motors died. Can it be the switches, do I have to take the rear door liners apart?
Grandchildern won't ride with me anymore no ac, rear windows do not open no ride. Thanks a lot for your help |

Check fuses first. Mine failed at the door jams where the black rubber sleeve for all of the wiring going from the car to the door. Pull that sleeve back and inspect the wires. My bet is that you will find damaged wires like mine!

Just what Jonbobs said - about the short in wiring coming from the B-pillar to the door - was a problem diagnosed by an indy right after I got my previous 87 300TD. Not likely that both sets of switches went bad.

I think most window fuses are diagonal: FR + RL; FL+RR, so both fronts should mean the fuses are okay.
Have you checked and/or cycled the rear window lockout switch a few times? That may be dirty or engaged. |
