Arrow Added to the stable

I have added my second Mercedes to my stable, a 1983 300D 326k miles. Astral Silver with Blue interior.

The first owner had it for 150k miles sold the the guy I bought it from in 2000. I liked the idea that 2 people had it for a long time and allot of miles, and that it had regular use and regular service rather than sitting around. Oddly enough, from the records, it seems the odometer has always worked too!

I also like the idea that the last owner had the engine replaced 66k miles ago, and hasn't used anything but commercial b95 in it. No home brews, greases, wastes, or other concoctions. The transmission 56k miles ago with records of having its fluid and filter changed since. I liked the idea the front end components were done 30k ago.

I typed all the records he gave me since 2000, into a spreadsheet gulp. About $24k spent over the years, not including some lost or missing receipts for things like tires, battery, CCU.

Of course nothing is perfect, the antenna got broken off, the A/C doesn't work (but I hear the compressor engage), needs a cruise and tach amp, and only one side of the hazards flash. Oh and the tear in the drivers seat. It does leave a nickle size oil spot at the far front overnight. The trunk lid paint is faded, and there is a dent at the front of the drivers fender.

I attached the spreed sheet I made for those that might be nerdly interested in such info.

Here are a couple pics and videos of it. It hasn't been cleaned up at all, as I emailed a couple hours after he listed it. He was suprised it had so much interest, I scrambled to get him his full $1150 asking price as fast as I could.

Picture/vids

I have been looking for a W123 for a long time. Alas I am to big and fat to be comfortable in it, but then I have the SDL for that.

Looks like you got a fantastic deal considering all the care that went into it. I bet you're gonna need a new expansion tank fairly soon, that ones the old kind and looks kinda tired...or I might be very wrong and it may last for years! Anyway, looks nice, congats!

Wow, you sure can`t complain about the price for what you got. looks good.

Bring it to PNW GTG and we can get a good look at it.

I was at PNP today and saw one with blue interior, but might be a couple yrs older and different MB Tex. but I think the pass seat was good, will fit on the drivers side. The arm rest was about perfect, usually they are all cracked. you have the volure carpet? this had the loop style, so could be different.

"looks kinda tired...or I might be very wrong and it may last for years"!

Yeah, well looking at the receipts, every other time it had a LOF some multiple hundred dollar things needed fixed.

I will make plans to goto the GTG but I guess we will have to nail down a time and place before further speculation. As for the carpet, I am not sure. I will take some more pictures when it comes home again. My wife went to the beach with sister and kids.
