Drain Plug on Behr Radiator

Have a newish (2 yrs. old) Behr radiator. Drain plug is red knurled knob that faces forward. Does this knob come all the way OUT, or does it simply loosen so as to allow the coolant to drain. It met with some resistance and I didn't want to force it.

Thanks,

The plugs have hooks on them that keep them from falling into your drain pan. They can come all of the way out but they don't have to for all of the fluid to come out.

So I'm guessing that, if I want to flush out debris from the radiator, my best best bet would be to disconnect the lower radiator hose?

On a w124 they don't unscrew all the way out, it's a valve.

Do a search on my w123 radiator flush, I removed the top hose and flushed through that out of the radiator drain , and then I removed the drain block plug and flushed through there.

The drain valve is below the lower hose fitting in case you want to drain that last teaspoon.
